AN650 Ground RFID Antenna

The AN650 Ground RFID Antenna is built for situations where a traditional wall- or ceiling-mounted antenna is impractical or unwelcome. At only about 8 mm thick, it can be placed flat on the floor — under a mat or covering, or embedded flush — to provide a subtle and unobtrusive RFID read zone.

Because it lies on the ground, the AN650 is excellent for reading tags on moving objects or people crossing over it — e.g. tracking entry/exit through doors, logging employees or items in/out, inventory flowing through chokepoints, or event-based tracking like attendees at conferences, retail customers, or race participants. Its rugged design supports moderate loads (foot traffic or carts), making it stable and durable for indoor or sheltered outdoor use.

The AN650 is circularly-polarized and tuned for standard UHF RFID frequencies, offering reliable read performance even when tags are oriented unpredictably. With a moderately high antenna gain and good RF characteristics, it provides a stable read zone without requiring bulky antenna hardware.

This antenna is especially useful for installations where you want a minimal aesthetic impact — e.g. retail floors, corporate lobbies, showrooms, trade-show booths, or facility entry points — while still getting dependable RFID tracking performance.
